Reverse Engineering (RE) is done from the cloud of points previously obtained from the digitising. Ultimately it is used to generate a surface or volume file, directly usable by CAD programs.
According to your needs:
- Semi-automatic RE for: machining (copying parts, moulds, etc.), pre-study (space requirement, interference, etc.), finite element analysis (competitive analysis)
- Standard RE for: study, design, remodelling existing parts or tooling
Applications:
- modifying the geometric characteristics of your part
- recreating a construction history
- making drawings of your part
- developing a new part, taking inspiration from the basics of the old one
- creating a CAD model which will be used in the development and industrialisation of your products.

Reverse engineering increases flexibility, reliability and speed of development by reducing costs and the time taken.
