“Return from Abyssinia” by Pierre ARDOUVIN“Return from Abyssinia” is a sculpture that questions the notions of utopia, dreams, imaginary or real journeys and otherness by means of the improbable encounter convened by the artist between Ferdinand Cheval and Arthur Rimbaud.
His work has formed the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions in France and abroad: the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (2005, 2010), the Fondation Jumex, Mexico (2008) and even the NMCA, Seoul (2011).
In 2016, the MAC VAL devoted a monographic exhibition to him entitled “Tout est affaire de décor” (It All Comes Down to Setting the Scene).
Since September 2018, a series of unpublished works have been on display at TOPAZ Arts in New York.
Today, Pierre Ardouvin’s work is included in many public and private collections around the world.
